BEAR 2019 Summer School Graduate Mobility Grants
The BEAR Network Summer School Graduate Mobility Grants allow graduate students to travel to Montreal to participate in the second BEAR Summer School “Between the EU and Russia: Zone of Contestation,” taking place June 17-22, 2019 at Université de Montréal.
The grants are available to full-time thesis students enrolled in a graduate degree program at a BEAR partner university, who are under the supervision of a network member. A limited number of grants are available on a competitive basis. Exceptional advanced undergraduates will also be considered.
Eligibility
The student must:
- Be enrolled in a graduate degree program at one of the BEAR partner universities. Exceptional advanced undergraduate students will also be considered.
- Be under the supervision of one of the BEAR Network members. Graduate students not directly supervised by a BEAR member will also be considered. A BEAR member must support the application.
- Be approved by his/her supervisor to take part in this mobility opportunity.
BEAR 2019 Undergraduate Mobility Grant to the Research Field Trip to Latvia and Estonia
Eight successful applicants from the BEAR Network will join twelve third-year undergraduate students from the University of Glasgow for a field trip to the Baltic. The trip takes place across three cities: Riga (Latvia), Narva and Tallinn (Estonia) where the students will experience a rich program of cultural and research-based activities.This field trip, designed for upper-level undergraduate students in the Social Sciences, provides students with an opportunity to consider how to conduct research ‘in the field’.
Eligibility
The student must:
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at one of the BEAR partner universities.
- Be under the supervision of one of the BEAR Network members.
BEAR 2018-2019 Mobility Grants
The BEAR Network Graduate Mobility Grants supports graduate students to spend 1-2 weeks at one of the BEAR partner universities to work with faculty members who specialize in the field of the students’ research. The grants are available to full-time thesis students enrolled in a graduate degree program at a BEAR partner university who are under the supervision of a network member. A limited number of Grants are available each year on a competitive basis.
Eligibility
The student must:
- Be enrolled in a graduate degree program at one of the BEAR partner universities.
- Be under the supervision of one of the BEAR Network members.
- Be approved by his/her supervisor to take part in this mobility opportunity.
- Priority goes to PhD students but Master students are welcome to apply.
- Conference travel is NOT eligible.
BEAR 2018 Graduate Mobility Grants to the Multi-Methods Workshop in Glasgow
The BEAR Network Graduate Mobility Grant supported students from partner universities to attend the Multi-Methods Workshop in Glasgow from October 3-5, 2018.
Eligibility

- Be enrolled in a graduate degree program at one of the BEAR partner universities.
- Be under the supervision of one of the BEAR Network members.
- Be approved by his/her supervisor to take part in this mobility opportunity.
BEAR 2018 Summer School Graduate Mobility Grants

- Be under the supervision of one of the BEAR Network members.
- Be approved by his/her supervisor to take part in this mobility opportunity.
BEAR 2017-2018 Mobility Grants
