Sashenka Lleshaj is a PhD Student in Political Science at McGill University. She completed her Master of Science in Russian & East European Studies at the University of Oxford, through an Open Society Foundation Oxford Scholarship. She also explored Human Rights through a master-level course at the University of Oslo. She moved to Canada as a Jeanne Sauvé Public Leadership Fellow 2017-19. As a Sauvé Fellow, Sashenka co-founded an initiative called CityInclusive and was a Visiting Researcher at Concordia University. In her home country, Albania, Sashenka served as Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, through the LEAD Albania Fellowship 2016-17. As part of the advisory position, she also completed an Executive Education Program on leadership at Harvard Kennedy School. In her research, Sashenka explores memory politics, reconciliation and transitional justice in the post-communist space, with a focus on the Balkans.
